Governor Josh Shapiro with Geoff Gross, President of the Connected Health & Safety Association and CEO of Medical Guardian.
Geoff Gross, president of the Connected Health & Safety Association (CHS) and founder & CEO of Medical Guardian, continues to shape the future of personal emergency response systems (PERS) and remote patient monitoring (RPM) while driving innovation across the broader digital health industry.
Now in his second year as president of CHS, Gross oversaw the successful rebrand of the organization, formerly known as the Medical Alert Monitoring Association (MAMA), to reflect the industry’s broader mission of advancing connected health, wellness, and safety solutions.
“This rebrand represents our collective future,” said Gross. “By bringing together health plans, providers, and technology leaders, we are building a connected healthcare ecosystem that empowers independence and protects lives.”
A highlight of the conference was the presentation of the 2025 Champion for Aging Award to Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, honoring his leadership in aging policy and support for older adults. Gross praised the Governor’s vision, noting how policy and innovation, like the solutions pioneered at Medical Guardian, can work hand-in-hand to improve care delivery and outcomes.
Gross also moderated the event’s keynote conversation with Dan Hilferty, CEO of Comcast Spectacor and former CEO of Independence Blue Cross, and David Baiada, CEO of Bayada Home Health Care. The discussion explored how payers, providers, and technology innovators can align to redefine aging-in-place and build a sustainable, tech-enabled care ecosystem, an area where Medical Guardian has emerged as a leader, with over 625,000 members nationwide relying on its PERS and RPM solutions.
Medical Guardian’s leadership presence extended beyond Gross, as Chief Commercial Officer Alex Prough hosted a featured panel discussion on the future of Medicaid Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) with Jami Snyder, Consultant & former Medicaid Director. The discussion examined how PERS are evolving into proactive engagement tools that improve outcomes, reduce avoidable utilization, and increase member satisfaction.
Gross’s leadership of both Medical Guardian and CHS underscores his vision to transform how technology supports older adults, cementing Medical Guardian’s role as a pioneer in connected care.
