HR team members Jane Gregull, Dan Schaeffer, Lauren Obadiah, and Jennifer Fernandez attended the Delaware Valley HR Department of the Year Awards ceremony.

The Delaware Valley HR Department of the Year Awards recently recognized Medical Guardian’s Human Resources team as the 2025 HR Department of the Year. This annual ceremony spotlights HR excellence and measurable organizational impact across the Mid-Atlantic region.

Established in 1998 by Scott Rosen of The Rosen Group, the awards honor HR departments that elevate people strategies, strengthen organizational performance, and lead meaningful transformation. To be considered, HR teams must demonstrate strategic value by aligning their priorities with company goals, leading initiatives that drive measurable impact in areas such as engagement, operational efficiency, culture, performance, and transformation, and validating results through clear metrics and business outcomes.

Key achievements included the strategic redesign of Medical Guardian’s employee health benefits program to increase value, affordability, and participation; the successful integration of MobileHelp and MedScope following their acquisitions; and the modernization of people systems and processes. The team also advanced culture and engagement across a predominantly remote and hybrid nationwide workforce, reduced reliance on external agencies by building an in-house recruiting capability, and deployed rapid-response hiring models that ensured business continuity and accelerated staffing for critical roles without compromising quality.

Our success leading to this recognition comes from a powerful combination: a strong HR team and a leadership team that truly values the role HR plays in shaping the business. When HR is understood and supported at a strategic level, it creates the freedom to concentrate on what truly matters, enabling our people, strengthening our culture, and building the organizational strength that keeps MG moving forward with purpose.” said Jennifer Fernandez, Vice President of People & Compliance at Medical Guardian.

This year’s awards ceremony was held at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, PA, on November 13. To see a complete list of award winners and honorees, click here
