Set Up & Installation

Follow these steps to install your MGOn-the-Go:

  1. Plug the charging cradle into a power outlet and a red LED light will illuminate on the cradle. (Avoid power strips and outlets controlled by a light switch).
  2. Place the device into the charging cradle. After a few seconds, the device will vibrate and state “charging.”
  3. The lights on the device will illuminate.
  4. A blinking blue LED light means the device is connected to the network.
  5. While charging, the red battery light on the MGOn-the-Go will flash every five (5) seconds. Once your MGOn-the-Go is fully charged, this battery light will be solid red.

A. Speaker

  • You will clearly hear the emergency operator through this powerful speaker.

B. Red light

  • While charging, the red battery light will flash every 5 seconds until the device is fully charged. Once fully charged, the red battery light will be solid.

C. Blue light

  • During an SOS call, the blue call light will be solid. The blue call light will flash every 5 seconds while charging and for a short time after a call ends.

D. Battery level indicator button

  • You can check the battery level at anytime by pressing the battery level indicator button on the side of the device. The device will either say “Battery OK” or “Battery low, please charge.”

E. Call button

Press this button in an emergency to contact our Monitoring Center.

F. Microphone

Speak with an emergency operator using this microphone.

G. Charging cradle

This charges the device in just 3 hours.

Red Battery Light – Off the cradle

  • No red light – battery is good/normal.
  • Flash every 26 seconds – indicates a low battery and should be placed in the charger as soon as possible.
  • The device will announce “Battery low, please charge.”

Red Battery Light – In the charging cradle

  • Flashing every 5 seconds – device is charging.
  • Solid Light – device is fully charged.

Blue Connection Light – Off the charging cradle

  • Light will flash every 26 seconds – connected to the network.

Blue Connection Light – In the charging cradle

  • Light will flash every 5 seconds – connected to the network.

Blue Connection Light – During a call

  • Solid light – normal.

Cradle

  •  Red light on the back of the cradle will be lit as long as the cradle is plugged into a power outlet.
Belt Clip & Lanyard

How to replace the lanyard with the belt clip:

  1. Remove the lanyard by pushing the small tab upward to release the clip.
  2. Pull the lanyard and clip away from the device.
  3. Press the clip on the back of the belt clip into the slot on the back of the device until it clicks.
Best Practices

    Testing
    It is recommended to test the mobile device and any/all buttons once a month.

    Battery

    The device has a battery life of up to 30 days under normal use.

    It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge from a low or depleted state.

    Testing Your Device

    It is recommended to test your device monthly to ensure they are working properly.

    Grab the device and hold it in your hand.

    1. Press the button firmly and hold until the device vibrates and the blue LED turns solid.
    2. Let go and the device will then start ringing and announce a call is in progress.
    3. When the AVA (automated voice assistant) or an operator answers the alarm, state you are “just testing and do not need help.”
    4. The operator will reset the device in between tests.
    5. Important! Be sure to wait at least 60 seconds between tests.
    FAQs

    How do I power on and power off my device?

    To power on your device:

    1. Simply place the mobile device in the cradle. The mobile device will state, “Charging.”
    2. The red LED light will flash every 5 seconds while charging and will go solid when fully charged.
    3. The blue call light will flash every 5 seconds when connected to the network.
    4. Wait 2 minutes after powering on before pressing the call button.

    Can I move this device to a new location?
    Yes, this device can be moved to a new location anywhere in the United States where there is a 4G cell network available. The new address will need to be provided (temporary or permanent) by calling the Customer Care department or by logging into the MyGuardian Member Portal. The device should be tested at the new address to ensure it is working properly.

      Can The volume be raised or lowered?
      No, the volume is preset by the manufacturer and cannot be adjusted.

      Should extension cords and surge protectors be avoided?
      Yes, extension cords and surge protectors can limit the amount of power the device receives resulting in the device not working properly. The charging cradle needs to be plugged directly into a wall outlet that does not operate on a light switch.

      Is the mobile device water-resistant?
      The portable device is water-resistant and can be splashed with water but not submerged underwater. The mobile device needs to be towel dried after contact with water.  The device is IP67 Certified.

      Can metal roofing/siding, trees, airports and other environmental factors have any effect on the device being able to connect?
      Yes, metal roofs/siding, concrete buildings (such as a basement), and environmental factors like wooded areas can have an impact on signal strength for a device which affects the device’s ability to connect.

      How does the device determine my location?\
      Location is provided nationwide by WPS Tracking using open-source Wi-Fi to triangulate your position.

      Can The volume be raised or lowered?
