Fall Detection

Fall Detection can provide peace of mind knowing that our monitoring center will receive a signal to send help without the push of a button for additional $10.00 monthly.

  • Fall Detection pendants contain tiny sensors that can detect changes in motion, as well as changes in the height of the pendant. If a fall is detected, the device will send an alarm to the monitoring center to begin the normal call process.
  • Fall Detection works best when worn around the neck and outside of clothing.
  • Fall Detection does not detect 100% of falls. If you are able, press your fall detection button in the event of an emergency. You may experience false alarms from time to time. Please advise the operator it was a false alarm.
Best Practices

Testing
It is recommended to test the mobile device and any/all buttons once a month.

Battery Life

Keep your Active Guardian charged: The rechargeable battery lasts up to 7 days per charge.

Watch for the red light: If the red battery light flashes while off the charging cradle, recharge the device immediately.

Wear consistently: Keep your Active Guardian on at all times and charge only as needed.

Follow proper charging procedures: Not charging as recommended may prevent the device from functioning correctly in an emergency.

Testing Your Device

It is recommended to test your device monthly to ensure they are working properly.

Grab the device and hold it in your hand.

  1. Press the button firmly and hold until the device vibrates and the blue LED turns solid.
  2. Let go and the device will then start ringing and announce a call is in progress.
  3. When the AVA (automated voice assistant) or an operator answers the alarm, state you are “just testing and do not need help”
  4. The operator will reset the device in between tests.
  5. Important! Be sure to wait at least 60 seconds between tests.
