Your Loved One, Always Protected
No matter where they go with their medical alert device, your loved one is covered. Whether running errands, walking the dog, or relaxing at home, the device can be located through GPS, and emergency help can be sent directly to them.
Plus, the device links up to a customer portal called MyGuardian. In the caregiver section, you can set up a call chain to include siblings, neighbors, or friends. This allows you to track location history, set up reminders for medications and events, chat with your loved one, and more.

How To Select A Device
Purchasing a potentially life-saving system for someone else is an important decision. Consider the following information to pick the perfect device:

Lifestyle
All devices can be worn for daily activities, such as showering, cooking, and cleaning, but if your loved one is active outside of the home, a mobile alert with GPS and Wi-Fi might be the best choice.

Size & Wearability
Small, discreet medical alert devices are always popular. Our devices can be worn on the wrist, around the neck, or in a clip that attaches to a belt loop or pocket. When selecting a device, consider how it will be worn.

Fall Detection
Fall detection technology can send an alert to the monitoring center on its own. The emergency operator will try to contact your loved one by speaking through the device. If there’s no answer, emergency services will be dispatched.

Reasons To Purchase A System
Medical alerts are purchased for many reasons. Here are just a few:

Certain Medications
Sedatives and other medications can put you at risk of falling. This is an added risk.

Chronic Medical Condition
Many chronic conditions put you at a higher risk of falling and sustaining an injury from that fall.

Active Lifestyle
Fall detection brings a layer of added security if you are outdoorsy, enjoy hiking, and engage in outdoor activities.

Live Alone
People who live alone are more vulnerable to injury because they may not have someone to help in an emergency. Our alerts are used for all types of emergencies, not just falls.

Balance Issues
Issues with your ears, brain, muscles and gait can cause you to feel off balance. If you’re dealing with these problems, a medical alert with fall detection is a good choice.

Frequently asked questions
Why do I need a medical alert device? Can't I just use my cell phone to call 911 in an emergency?
Unlike a cell phone, our medical alert devices are highly water-resistant wearable buttons, perfect for shower use. Additionally, a cell phone will not always be nearby in an emergency, making it an unreliable option when it comes to ensuring your safety. With our devices, however, you can rest assured that you will always have access to help by wearing a discreet and lightweight button around your neck, wrist, or on a clip. Our medical alert devices can also be used for more than just emergency situations including contacting a family member or loved one at the push of a button. The ease of use of our products with a single button press truly set our devices apart from your typical cell phone, especially in the case of an emergency.
Where are Medical Guardian's medical alert services available?
Our services are available in all 50 states. We also provide services in Puerto Rico and Canada, but device restrictions may apply.
Are Medical Guardian's medical alert systems covered by Medicare?
Standard Medicare does not cover the cost of a medical alert device. However, some Medicare Advantage plans (Medicare part C), may cover or reimburse you for the costs associated with a device. You would need to check with your specific Medicare Advantage provider to see if they would cover one of our devices. Medicaid may cover the cost of a medical alert device, depending on your plan and your state. Check with your Medicaid provider to see if they would cover one of our devices.
Do I need a landline to use a Medical Guardian medical alert system?
No. While our Classic Guardian requires a landline telephone connection, we offer another home-based medical alert device, Home 2.0, and two mobile products, Mobile 2.0 and Mini Guardian, that use a nationwide cellular network to contact our 24/7 monitoring center at no extra cost to you.
Where is Medical Guardian's monitoring center located?
Our monitoring center is located right here in the United States, so you never have to worry about experiencing any language barriers in an emergency.
