Home Guardian II’s Fall Detection

How Much Does Fall Detection Cost?

Fall Detection is an additional $10 per month per button. It does NOT come standard. If you’d like to add the Fall Detection button, please reach out to us via Live Chat (on the bottom of this page) or on www.medicalguardian.com.

Important Points about Fall Detection

  • Fall Detection does not detect 100% of falls.
  • If you are able, please ensure that you press the help button in the event of an emergency.
  • The Fall Detection pendant MUST be worn around the neck to allow for adequate detection of falls.
  • You may experience false alarms from time to time. If you experience false alarms, make sure you let the operator know that you do not need emergency assistance. As a reminder, if the operator cannot hear you through the base station they will call your primary phone number listed on the account to confirm if you need emergency assistance. It is important that you let them know that you do NOT need emergency assistance when the operator calls through the base station or calls your primary phone number. If they do not get a response, they will dispatch EMS to your home. That is why it is imperative that you speak to the operator in order to cancel the alarm to avoid unnecessary dispatches.

Can You Cancel a Fall Detection Alarm from the Button or Base?

No, the alarm cannot be cancelled from the pendent or base. Please let the call go through and let the operator know it was just a false alarm.

Can the Fall Detection Pendant be Tested?

Due to the parameters of the Fall Detection pendant you will not be able to test the Fall Detection feature by dropping or throwing it on the floor. You should always test this button by pressing the black button in the center and speak with a live operator.

Is There a Way to Power off the Fall Detection Pendant?

The only way to power off the Fall Detection pendent is to remove the battery. This is not recommended.
