Get to know your MGHome Landline
Can I speak to an emergency operator through my emergency alert necklace or wristband?
No.
You can only speak to an operator through the base station’s 2-way speaker system. The Interchangeable Help Button simply allows you to contact our monitoring center up to 1,400 feet in every direction of the base station. If you are unable to speak with our operators, they send emergency services to your home right away.
Can I wear the MGHome Landline pendants in the shower?
Absolutely!
Even though the base station is not water-resistant, the Interchangeable Help Buttons are highly water-resistant so you can trigger an emergency call should you experience an accident while in the shower.
How do I power on and power off my device?
Powering on the MGHome Landline:
- Plug the power adaptor into a direct wall socket that is not connected to a light switch. Press the red power button on the back of the device located next to the power cord. The info light will light up solid green indicating it is connected to a power source and will verbally state, “Device ready.”
Powering off the MGHome Landline:
- Press the red power button on the back of the device located next to the power cord. The purple-colored LED ring on the front of the device will go out indicating the device is powered off.
I live with my spouse. Can they be protected as well?
Yes.
Multiple Interchangeable Help Buttons can be synced with your MGHome Landline base station so you and your spouse, or another family member, can be protected in and around your home.
Can I move this device to a new location?
Yes.
This device can be moved to a new location anywhere in the United States where there is a working landline. The new address will need to be provided (temporary or permanent) by calling the Customer Care department or by logging into our online member portal & app. The device should be tested at the new address to ensure it is working properly.
How does fall detection work?
For an extra layer of protection in your home, you can add a water-resistant Fall Detection Pendant to your MGHome Landline system. This pendant will automatically send a wireless signal to your base station should it detect a fall, and our monitoring center will be contacted via the AT&T cellular network. For just $10 extra a month, your MGHome Landline can become a fall detection system, ensuring that you will always be able to receive help in an emergency.
Should extension cords and surge protectors be avoided?
Yes.
Extension cords and surge protectors can limit the amount of power the device receives resulting in the device not working properly. The device’s power cord needs to be plugged directly into a wall outlet that does not operate on a light switch.
Can I adjust the volume?
Yes.
The volume can be adjusted. Press the berry color volume button to adjust the volume level. 5 levels are available for selection. Each button press will lead to the next level. The cycle of 1-5 will be repeated sequentially.
Can I cancel an alarm?
Yes.
After an alarm is activated, the user has 10 seconds to press and hold the peripheral or help button on the device for 5 seconds to cancel the call.
